What to look for in the Night Sky by Stargazer Steve
WEDNESDAY JAN 15: This evening Mars comes to a point in the sky 180
degrees away from the Sun, because Earth has come to an imaginary
line between Mars and the Sun. Mars is said to be in “Opposition” which means:
*Mars appears opposite the Sun in the Sky
* Mars rises at Sunset and sets at Sunrise – Up all night!
* This week Mars is about 100 Million km from Earth and the telescopic view will start to shrink in the coming weeks and monthsas Mars recedes from Earth.
* Currently the apparent disk of Mars will be fully Sunlit.
